What is it like when you need a place of rest and no matter where you look you can’t find one? Jesus says “come, and I will give you rest.” God miraculously provided an opportunity to buy a second home and agricultural land in our mountain village when, after discussions with the owner, he decided not to list his property on the market, but to sell to us for a remarkably low price. With God’s blessing and generous supporters, we’ll close this coming March, 2026. We plan to fit the home as a “Rest Retreat” for people living in the overcrowded cities of Japan. A home in this setting, properly fitted for comfort, will equip us with a nearly irresistible invitation to extend to some of the astounding 73.5 Million who live within just 150 miles. We have hopes that God will allow this place to blossom into a home-like “sanitarium”. Step-by-step… little-by-little. In the mean time, it will be a place of physical, mental, and spiritual rest for those desperately looking for it in Japan. Please consider the following…

How grateful to the weary—accustomed to city life, the glare of many lights, the noise of the streets—is the quiet and calm of the country! How eagerly they turn aside to the scenes of nature! How glad they would be to go to a sanitarium in the country, where they could sit in the open air, rejoicing in the sunshine, and breathing the fragrance of tree and flower. There are health-giving properties in the balsam of the pine.

The things of nature are God’s blessings, provided to give health to body, mind, and soul. They are given to the well to keep them well, and to the sick to make them well. Connected with water treatment, they are more effective in restoring health than all the drug medication in the world. -EW

If you are convicted that the Rest Retreat is God’s will for His work in Japan, consider supporting financially… we need only $7,400 to cover the purchase price and pay off the property at signing in March, 2026.
