Agricultural Volunteer

Who: Do you have desire to physically labor restore land in Japan our ministry?
What: We have a few acres that need to be converted from growing green tea bushes (see photo) to be prepared for other crops like vineyards, field crops, and gardens. We are renting a manual tea bush pulling machine that uses ratcheting action to pull the bushes and the roots out using a cable and a manually power lever. The bushes will dry out some and then be burned. This is great exercise in a beautiful place.

Construction Volunteer

Who: Do you have construction experience and desire to renovate a bathroom and/or kitchen?
What: BATHROOM-We have a Japanese-style bathroom that has a changing room with sink, then a wet room with shower area and a soaking tub. Reason for renovating is that the shower walls have a plastic wrap like coating that is compromised letting water in. Secondly, the tub design allows humidity to get trapped under the tub where it is difficult to clean. Unaddressed, these will pose a health hazard.
KITCHEN-The kitchen needs more natural light, cleanable cabinets, better oven solution, upgraded electric.

House / Workshop Cleaner

Who: Do you have a love for cleaning and order?
What: We have an century-old Japanese home that has possibly been in one family for seven or more generations. Many of their belongings remain. The house and workshop has been partially emptied and many of the personal belongings that remain need to be organized, sold, donated, or disposed of. This is a bigger job than what it sounds like on the surface.

Babysitter Missionary

Who: Do you love being active outdoors with children?
What: Our neighbors regularly need their child/children watched. We have taken this as a wonderful form of ministry to young ones and their family.

Fence Builder

Who: Do you have experience building high quality electric fences?
What: The Japanese Macaque is called a “Snow Monkey” which makes them seem very cute. But, they are in the Baboon family and can travel in troops of over 100. They can literally wipe out an entire farm’s harvest in one day. We have designs for successful baboon fences. We need funds for materials and skilled labor for installation.

Japanese Speaking Missionary
